Offered here is a WWII Japanese Type 99 Arisaka rifle chambered in 7.7×58mm Arisaka. The receiver bears the Nagoya Arsenal manufacturer mark along with the Series 0 designation and serial number **309.
Inspection shows that the receiver and bayonet lug assembly remain matched, while the major components of the bolt assembly are matching and marked with the assembly number 304. Arsenal markings, series markings, serial numbers, and inspection stamps remain clearly visible with sharp edges and good definition. No obvious evidence of heavy buffing, aggressive polishing, or excessive refinishing was observed, and the rifle retains strong original military characteristics.
This rifle retains its original military configuration and has not been sporterized or significantly modified. As is common with many surviving Type 99 rifles, the anti-aircraft sight wings (AA Wings), cleaning rod, and monopod are no longer present. However, the original mounting provisions and attachment points remain intact for collectors wishing to restore the rifle to a more complete configuration.
The bore shows evident service wear consistent with military use, but remains bright with clearly visible rifling throughout. The stock is clean and structurally sound, while the metal components remain in very good condition. Mechanical function is normal and the action operates smoothly.
This example represents a desirable WWII Japanese military rifle retaining its original military appearance, clear arsenal markings, and matching bolt assembly components, making it an attractive addition for collectors of Japanese military firearms and World War II memorabilia.
