A fine example of a post-war French Army officer’s kepi, dating from the 1960s to 1980s Fifth Republic era. This regulation ceremonial hat features a black wool body with a bright red wool crown, highlighted by gold trim above the black lacquered visor. The front bears the classic French military flaming grenade insignia, finely hand-embroidered in gold wire — a symbol long associated with the Army and Gendarmerie officers.
The interior is fully lined in red satin with an elastic sweatband, showing careful tailoring and high manufacturing quality typical of French uniform makers of the period. The kepi remains in excellent overall condition with minimal signs of wear — ideal for collectors of European militaria or as a display piece representing France’s distinguished military tradition.Condition: Excellent vintage condition.
