A well-preserved vintage Australian slouch hat, featuring a Rising Sun badge mounted on the upturned left brim and marked “AUSTRALIAN MILITARY FORCES.”
The hat is constructed from khaki felt and retains its traditional pleated puggaree, bound brim, metal ventilation eyelets, black leather sweatband, and leather chin strap.
The interior measures approximately 8.5 inches front-to-back and 6.5 inches side-to-side. A handwritten “59” is visible on the inside of the leather sweatband; its exact meaning is unknown.
The interior also retains a vintage Queensland “We Make It Great in the Sunshine State” sticker, apparently added by a previous owner.
Overall, the hat remains in very good vintage condition, showing normal signs of age, use, and storage.
