Offered here is a well-preserved Swedish Mauser m/38, manufactured by Husqvarna Vapenfabriks AB in 1941 and chambered in 6.5×55mm Swedish.
Unlike the earlier M38-pattern rifles converted from existing M96 long rifles, this example is a purpose-built Husqvarna M38, manufactured from the outset in the shorter military configuration. It retains its characteristic turned-down bolt handle, T-marked rear sight, brass stock disc, and cleaning rod.
The rifle retains matching serial numbers on multiple visible numbered metal components, including the receiver, bolt, and buttplate. The stock is not matching to the receiver.
The wood remains in very good military condition, showing normal handling marks and service wear consistent with its age. The metal retains an attractive military appearance with normal finish wear and age-related patina. The bore is bright with strong, clearly defined rifling.
Overall, this is an attractive WWII-era Husqvarna M38 retaining a high degree of its original Swedish military configuration and numerous matching-numbered components.
