This item is currently located in Asia and is not physically in stock at our Canadian location. Once the $800 CAD deposit has been received, we will arrange international shipping and the subsequent import process.

Shipping within Canada is included in the purchase price, with no additional domestic shipping charge. However, due to the collectible nature and value of this item, we strongly recommend local pickup at our store whenever possible.

If the item is lost during international shipping or, for any reason, cannot ultimately be delivered to us, the $800 CAD deposit will be refunded in full.

Item Description

WWII-era Japanese Type 98 Shin-Gunto, presented in simplified military mounts, with a signed tang (Mei) and accompanied by a Japanese Firearms and Swords Registration Certificate (銃砲刀剣類登録証).

The blade measures approximately 63.3 cm and retains its complete overall profile. The blade has been polished, with a clearly visible hamon. Age-related handling and storage marks are present, along with some localized light pitting. Please refer to all actual-item photographs for exact condition.

A notable feature of this sword is its simplified military mounting configuration, representing a simplified form of the standard Type 98 military fittings. The sword retains military-style hilt fittings, guard, and associated hardware, together with a brown-covered scabbard showing age and service wear.

The nakago (tang) is signed (Mei), with the inscription remaining visible. The tang retains natural oxidation and age patina. Please refer to the detailed actual-item photographs for the inscription and exact condition.
