Offered here is a Czech Brno VZ.24 Mauser bolt-action rifle chambered in 8×57mm Mauser, identified as a Romanian contract example based on its TR-prefix serial number pattern. The VZ.24 was manufactured by Československá Zbrojovka Brno and became one of the most respected Mauser 98 pattern military rifles of the interwar period, widely exported and used by numerous countries before and during World War II.
This rifle retains matching serial numbers on the receiver and stock (TR146**). The original receiver crest has been removed/scrubbed during its service life, which is commonly encountered on military rifles that went through later arsenal processing or service history.
The bolt assembly has been arsenal force-matched to the rifle. The bolt body and internal components retain Czech inspection markings, indicating the use of original Czech-manufactured components rather than modern replacement parts.
The rifle remains in an authentic military configuration with original style sights, bayonet lug, cleaning rod, and sling hardware. The metal finish remains in good military condition with honest service wear. The stock shows typical handling marks from age and service; the upper handguard has a small rectangular arsenal-style repair, and there is a minor chip near the receiver area. The wood remains solid and stable.
