Offered here is a highly collectible World War II Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk I* rifle chambered in .303 British, manufactured in the United States by Savage-Stevens as part of the WWII Lend-Lease program.
These American-produced Lee-Enfield rifles were supplied to British and Commonwealth forces during the Second World War, representing an important collaboration between Allied nations. The receiver is clearly marked “U.S. PROPERTY”, a distinctive marking applied to rifles produced under the Lend-Lease program.
This example remains in excellent collector condition, retaining matching serial number 74C9623 on all visible numbered components, including the receiver, bolt, magazine, and other externally marked parts. The rifle has not been fully disassembled, therefore only visible matching components are represented.
Built in the correct No.4 Mk I* configuration, this rifle features the wartime simplified bolt release design used on Savage production rifles while maintaining the legendary smooth operation, durability, and fast cycling characteristics of the Lee-Enfield system.
This rifle retains its classic military configuration, featuring:
- Full-length military wood furniture
- Desirable No.4 Mk I micrometer adjustable rear sight
- Detachable box magazine
- Military canvas sling
- Blade-style socket bayonet included
The included blade-style socket bayonet completes the traditional Lee-Enfield service rifle presentation. It mounts using the No.4 rifle bayonet system and provides a more substantial appearance compared with the common spike bayonet style.
The metal finish remains in very good condition with honest age-related wear and natural patina, preserving its authentic military character. The U.S. PROPERTY marking and serial numbers remain clear and well defined.
The wood furniture shows attractive color and grain with normal handling marks expected from a wartime military rifle. It maintains a classic service appearance without losing its historical character.
The bore is excellent — bright and clean with strong, sharp rifling, showing very good preservation.
A desirable WWII U.S. PROPERTY Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk I* package combining American wartime production history, visible matching numbers, excellent bore condition, and complete military presentation.
