Offered here is a vintage Japanese-made MGC (Model Gun Corporation) Colt Single Action Army 1873 metal model gun, clearly marked “Cal. 44-40 Long Blank / MGC MANUFACTORY” on the frame and “JAPAN” on the bottom of the grip.
This model features the classic long-barrel Colt 1873 Single Action Army configuration, with metal construction and brown checkered grips featuring MGC medallions. It measures approximately 10 inches from the rear of the hammer to the muzzle. The hammer, trigger, rotating cylinder, loading gate, and ejector assembly are all present and operational.
Designed as a .44-40 Long Blank model gun, this is a collectible replica and is not intended to fire live ammunition.
Included is a vintage “CAL 44-40 MODEL GUN CARTRIDGES” box containing 12 metal .44-40 model gun cartridges. Period Japanese reference material documents that early MGC .44-40 model gun cartridges were supplied in 12-round boxes, while later versions were also offered in 6-round packaging, making the included 12-round box a particularly interesting period accessory.
As a vintage Japanese MGC collectible, the revolver shows age-related wear, including scratches, finish wear, and areas of surface oxidation. Please refer to the photos for overall condition.
