This is a Turkish/German M1903 Mauser bayonet, modified by shortening earlier bayonet patterns to fit 8mm M1893 and M1903 Mauser rifles. The crosspiece is stamped "12406" with additional proof marks. Features include a hooked quillon, two-piece wooden grips, and a metal pommel marked “AS.FA. (Askeri Fabrika)” with a star proof. The accompanying steel scabbard is marked “1059” and “Carl Eickhorn, 1939,” and features a ball tip with a Waffenamt proof. Blade length is approximately 9.75", overall length about 14.75".
