The model is marked “Our English Type” and represents a traditional boxlock double designed in the English sporting style, with clean lines and practical field features.
The shotgun features blued barrels with a solid rib and a brass bead front sight. The bores remain in Very Good condition. Chokes are fixed Modified and Full, making it well suited for traditional upland hunting, clay shooting, or as a representative example of classic European game guns.
The receiver retains attractive colour case hardening and is fitted with double triggers, automatic safety, extractor system (non-ejector type, shells must be removed manually), and visible cocking indicators. The action opens and closes smoothly, consistent with a hinged side-by-side design.
The two-piece wood stock includes a checkered forearm and pistol grip, along with a European-style cheek rest and a grooved horn butt plate. Sling swivels are present. The horn trigger guard has been repaired at the front, with the repair clearly visible but functional.
This shotgun was imported from Europe, as indicated by the barrel marking “IMPORT MADE IN BELGIUM,” reflecting the common practice of Birmingham-marked trade guns being assembled, finished, or retailed through the UK market while produced in continental proof houses.
