The package is clearly marked "Rear Sight Assembly" for "Rifle, U.S. Cal. .30 M1903A3", with contractor markings from Hadley Special Tool Co. and the Boston Ordnance District. Based on the packaging markings and characteristics, this assembly is believed to be a U.S. military surplus component produced for the M1903A3 rifle program.
