Offered here is a classic J.P. Sauer & Sohn Suhl side-by-side shotgun chambered in 12 gauge, barrel length is 20 inches. The proof markings indicate 12/70 (2¾") chambers and a December 1956 proof date.
This example features traditional double triggers, a checkered walnut stock and fore-end, and extensive period engraving across the receiver, fences, trigger guard, and other metalwork. The barrel flats retain German proof marks, including Nitro proof markings, while the barrels retain a good amount of their original blued finish.
The shotgun shows honest age and handling wear throughout, particularly to the receiver finish and wood, giving it the appearance expected of a nearly 70-year-old German sporting gun. The bores appear clean and bright.
