Manufactured by Rifle Factory Ishapore (RFI) in 1972, this 1A1 FAL semi-automatic rifle was originally chambered in 7.62×51mm NATO.
The receiver is marked "RIFLE 7.62mm 1A1" on one side and "R.F.I. 1972" on the opposite side.
The rifle retains its original military-style configuration, including a wooden buttstock, handguards, pistol grip, carrying handle, box magazine, and original iron sights.
This rifle has been permanently deactivated in accordance with current Canadian deactivation requirements and comes with an official RCMP deactivation confirmation letter dated August 18, 2026. As a properly deactivated firearm, no Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) is required under Canadian federal firearms law.
Following deactivation, only the safety selector and rear sight remain movable. The magazine is permanently fixed in place and cannot be removed. The trigger cannot be pulled, and the bolt cannot be operated.
The metal surfaces show normal military service wear, including scratches, handling marks, and areas of finish wear. The wooden furniture displays typical service-related scratches and wear, with no obvious cracks observed in the buttstock.
Overall, the rifle remains in good military surplus condition, retaining an authentic service-used appearance. An excellent piece for military history displays and collections.
