Offered for sale is a French Berthier Mle 1907/15 infantry rifle, chambered in 8mm Lebel and manufactured by Manufacture d’Armes de Châtellerault.
The receiver is marked “Châtellerault Mle 1907-15.” The rifle features the original-style three-round en-bloc magazine system and is configured without an upper handguard.
The receiver, stock, and trigger guard/floorplate are matching numbers. The bolt is mismatched.
The action operates smoothly. The bore is in good condition with strong and well-defined rifling.
The rifle bears the French “N” marking, indicating the later Balle N chamber modification.
The stock is structurally solid and remains in good overall condition, showing normal military service wear and several arsenal wood repairs. The metal surfaces show age and service wear with no obvious signs of modern refinishing.
Included is a French cruciform spike bayonet with hooked quillon. The bayonet mounts correctly to the rifle and shows normal age and service wear. No scabbard is included.
Many detailed photographs are provided for collectors to examine the markings, matching numbers, metal finish, stock, and overall condition.
