Offered here is a Czech Brno VZ24 Mauser rifle presented in a Romanian-style sniper configuration, featuring a distinctive raised bridge mount system.

The VZ24 is one of the finest Mauser 98 pattern rifles of the interwar period, manufactured by Československá Zbrojovka Brno and widely exported across Europe. Among its major contracts, Romania acquired large numbers of VZ24 rifles prior to World War II, and these rifles continued to see extensive service throughout the war.

During wartime, Romania—like many Eastern European nations—made practical use of existing Mauser-pattern rifles by adapting selected examples for scoped use. While not standardized to the same degree as German sniper programs, various field and arsenal-level conversions are known, often featuring side mounts or elevated bridge-style optics setups.

This rifle has been configured in a Romanian sniper-style layout, inspired by those Eastern European adaptations. It features a raised bridge mount designed to carry a long eye-relief optic, giving the rifle a classic and recognizable sniper profile.

The bolt handle has been turned down to allow optic clearance, enhancing both functionality and overall appearance. The configuration closely reflects the visual style associated with Romanian VZ24 sniper adaptations.

The rifle retains its original Czech receiver markings, with clear “Československá Zbrojovka Brno VZ24” stampings. The stock shows honest service wear with handling marks and patina consistent with age, while remaining solid and structurally sound. The bore is bright with strong rifling.

This is not a documented military-issued Romanian sniper rifle, but rather a well-executed sniper-style configuration built on a high-quality VZ24 platform. Compared to original Romanian sniper-configured VZ24 rifles—which are extremely rare and command significant premiums—this example offers a very appealing alternative, combining the correct visual style with excellent overall condition and shootability.

An excellent choice for collectors, enthusiasts, or shooters seeking a Mauser rifle with classic Eastern European sniper aesthetics.
