Charles Lancaster & Co. London side-by-side double shotgun in 12 bore, offered with its original fitted case and period Lancaster paperwork. This is a classic English game gun displaying traditional London styling and fine scroll engraving.
Mechanical & functional condition:
The action is tight. Both hammers cock and fire correctly, and the safety functions as intended. These observations are based on basic function checks only.
Barrels & chambers:
30" barrels with bright, shiny bores as observed. The barrel flats show British proof markings including “NITRO PROOF” and “CHOKE.”
Chamber length is not marked on the barrel flats and should be confirmed by a competent gunsmith prior to use.
Metalwork:
Metal surfaces show a blue-brown patina with areas of bluing loss, consistent with age and use. Scroll engraving on the receiver and trigger guard remains visible and attractive. Please refer to photographs for overall cosmetic condition.
Stock & furniture:
The stock shows scratches and dents from honest use. A stable, period repair is present on the left side of the wrist. The stock is fitted with a traditional oval silver escutcheon, commonly intended for the original owner’s initials on English sporting guns.

Matching serial numbers are observed on the components shown in the photographs.
Accessories & documentation:
Included is the original fitted case with green felt interior, showing age-related wear, along with period Charles Lancaster printed inserts, including loading instructions and ejector/fore-end handling guidance.
