Manufactured by Deutsche Waffen-und Munitionsfabriken (Oberndorf a/N) under contract for the Brazilian government, this Model 1908 Mauser rifle, chambered in 7mm Mauser (7x57mm), remains in honest and well-preserved condition with a naturally aged patina. The receiver left wall is clearly stamped “DEUTSCHE WAFFEN-UND MUNITIONSFABRIKEN OBERNDORF A.N.”, while the receiver ring bears the crisp Brazilian national crest and “M.D. 1908” marking.

Metal surfaces show a uniform brown patina with scattered light pitting and handling wear, yet all factory markings remain sharp and legible. The straight bolt handle operates smoothly, and the action cycles correctly. Barrel length is approximately 29", fitted with a barleycorn front sight on ramp and an adjustable U-notch rear sight.

The rifle features a two-piece full-length walnut military stock with pistol grip, steel buttplate, sling swivels, bayonet lug, and stock disk; cleaning rod is missing. The stock exhibits small dents, scratches, and service wear consistent with field use but remains structurally sound.

All serial numbers are fully matching — including receiver, bolt, and all numbered small parts such as the floorplate and trigger guard components — a rare and desirable trait among surviving examples.

A fine example of the DWM-produced Brazilian Model 1908 contract rifle, known for its exceptional build quality, smooth action, and robust Mauser engineering — an outstanding representative of early South American military Mauser production.
