This Stevens Marksman single-shot .22 rifle dates from approximately the late 1920s to early 1930s and represents one of the classic North American youth and farm rifles of the period. The action opens and closes properly, the tip-up lockup is solid, and the receiver markings remain clear, showing the traditional pre-war Stevens manufacturing style.

The wood furniture is original and shows the expected character of a century-old working rifle. The forearm has notable wood loss on both sides of the bottom section, with visible chipping and material missing near the screw area. This is a common aging trait on Marksman models but should be noted for condition accuracy. The buttstock retains its original shape but the factory steel buttplate is missing, leaving the wood exposed with the central screw hole and mounting points still intact for future replacement if desired.

Metal surfaces display natural patina and worn bluing consistent with age, without signs of harsh refinishing. Mechanically complete and structurally intact, this rifle is well-suited for collectors, display, or as a representative example of early 20th-century utilitarian American rimfire design.
