Lee-Enfield No.5 Mk I “Jungle Carbine” .303 British – Fazakerley, 1947

A well-presented Lee-Enfield No.5 Mk I “Jungle Carbine”, chambered in .303 British and manufactured at Fazakerley in June 1947. This rifle retains the characteristic compact No.5 military configuration, including the shortened barrel with flash hider, protected blade front sight, adjustable 800-yard aperture rear sight, detachable box magazine, and rubber recoil pad.

The military wood furniture presents very well overall, showing attractive grain along with normal handling and service marks. The metal components retain a good overall appearance with expected age and use wear. The bore shows strong, clearly defined rifling as visible in the photos.

The receiver and bolt serial numbers are mismatched. Overall, an attractive example of the distinctive post-WWII British No.5 Mk I service carbine.
