This is a Canadian-made Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk I* rifle manufactured by Long Branch in 1949, representing post-war Canadian production of the No.4 series.
The rifle is in new unissued unfired condition, retaining its original military configuration, with traces of preservative oil still remaining. The receiver and bolt show matching serial numbers. Metal surfaces retain over 95% of its original finish. The bore is bright and shiny with excellent rifling. The Mk3 rear sight was reused at the factory and has light pitting but remains functional.
This example retains its original maple stock set in excellent condition, showing minimal handling marks. All stock markings are present.
An excellent example of Canadian history and a great addition to any collection.
