Offered here is an original Forehand & Wadsworth Double Action No.38 revolver, manufactured in Worcester, Massachusetts and marked with the “Pat. July 24, 1877” patent date. This late 19th-century American pocket revolver features a 6-shot removable cylinder, exposed hammer, and double-action trigger mechanism. The revolver retains a mix of worn nickel and steel finish, with visible handling marks and aged patina typical for its era. The walnut grips are intact and show honest use. The bore retains visible rifling.
This revolver is mechanically functional and represents a classic example of Forehand & Wadsworth’s small-frame double-action designs popular during the Victorian era. It comes housed in a custom wooden display case lined with blue velvet and includes a Texas Ranger commemorative badge, adding to its presentation appeal.
Although this firearm qualifies as an antique, it is accompanied by a small quantity of ammunition, therefore a valid PAL (Possession and Acquisition Licence) is required for purchase and transfer within Canada.
A fine collectible for enthusiasts of 19th-century American revolvers and Old West–era sidearms.
