Polish AK-47 Bayonet with Scabbard – 6 Inch Blade

This is an original Polish AK-47 bayonet, complete with its scabbard and leather belt hanger. The bayonet features a 6-inch steel blade with a cut-out slot, bakelite-style reddish-brown grips, and steel crossguard with muzzle ring. The scabbard retains its original blackened finish and includes the wire-cutter attachment, designed to be used in combination with the bayonet blade—a hallmark of the AKM bayonet design. The leather belt hanger is still attached, adding to its completeness.

Historical Background

Poland was one of the first Warsaw Pact countries outside the Soviet Union to adopt and produce the AK-47 and later AKM under license. Known locally as the KbK AK and KbK AKM, these rifles came with domestically manufactured bayonets patterned closely after the Soviet Type II/III designs. Like their Soviet counterparts, Polish AK bayonets incorporated the multipurpose “knife and tool” function, with the blade and scabbard doubling as a wire-cutter.

These bayonets were issued throughout the Cold War to Polish forces and saw widespread distribution to allied movements through Warsaw Pact and Soviet aid programs. Today, they remain a highly recognizable Cold War sidearm and a staple in any AK-pattern militaria collection.
