1946 East German AK-47 Bayonet with Scabbard

This is an early post-war East German AK-47 bayonet, complete with its original steel scabbard and leather belt hanger. The bayonet features a 6-inch blade with sawback spine, a durable black synthetic grip, and the classic steel crossguard with muzzle ring. The scabbard includes the wire-cutter attachment point and comes fitted with its leather strap and hanger for belt carry.

More than just a functional sidearm, this piece represents a fascinating part of Cold War history. Following World War II, East Germany fell under Soviet influence and became a Warsaw Pact member state. Its army, the Nationale Volksarmee (NVA), was standardized on Soviet-designed weapons, including the AK-47 rifle.
